Област интересовања

Др Јелена Живковић се бави археологијом средњег и новог века на просторима Балкана, источног Медитерана и Арабијског полуострва. Има специјализацију из области археометрије, са нагласком на петрографским, хемијским и изотопским анализама керамике и глеђи. Њена истраживања су усмерена на културне промене настале као последица османских освајања и исламизације, што су теме којима приступа кроз истраживања технологије производње керамике, удруживања грнчара и преноса технолошког знања у њиховим заједницама. Такође, бави се проучавањем организације производње керамике у градским и сеоским занатским центрима, иновација у производњи глеђосане керамике и утицаја индустријализације на занатско грнчарство.
