“COOLTOUR – Millennials for Cultural Heritage”

How should cultural heritage be promoted among younger generations, given it is an expression of complex historical, social and cultural circumstances, as well as part of a wider and complex relationship with the natural environment? How should we nurture the dialogue and interaction of youth with professionals who manage cultural heritage in our cities and countries? How should we reconcile public and private institutions, responsible for safeguarding these complex values, with young people’s interest in new and interactive content. These are just some of the questions that the “COOLTOUR – Millennials for Cultural Heritage” project, co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, plans to answer.

Launched in March 2022, the project brings together cultural heritage monuments and experts, universities and research centres, cultural management organizations, communication experts, student organizations and the youth of six European countries.

During the project, the mobility of 60 young people from 6 partner countries was realized at Viminacium where the COOLTOUR platform was initially tested. Further testing of the platform and development of guidelines for cultural heritage managers took place during 6 pilot programmes across Serbia (Belgrade, Niš, Sremska Mitrovica, Požarevac, Ram and Viminacium)! The results of the project were shared with the public during various events, such as the Science Festival, the Technical Fair, the Tourism Fair and others, while the institute of Archaeology organized a multiplayer event on December 4 at KC grad, Belgrade.
