Interests and methodology of research

Milijan specialises in the study of Late Prehistory, the Classical and Late Antique periods in the Eastern Adriatic, the Central Balkans, and the Pannonian Plain. Since 2017, his research has been dedicated to the Roman province of Pannonia and ancient Sirmium. The research focus lies in cultural contacts and socioeconomic dynamics in the past, architectural studies, processes of urbanisation, settlement patterns, and landscape archaeology. He also has a focus on archaeological survey methodology and interpretation.
