The main topic of the Colloquium will encompass the significance of the cultural influences, their originality and syncretism in Roman provinces and in which way they traversed the borders which separated Roman provinces one from the other. Different segments of provincial life (historical, military, social, religious etc.) will allow to explore the questions like – were the frontiers of Roman provinces also the cultural ones, since the monuments of material culture show stylistic characteristics and analogies on a wider regional territory than Roman administrative units were positioned in reality and what different archaeological and architectural monuments show in reality in that context (referring to stone monuments, sculptures, statuettes, votive reliefs etc.).
The topics of the Colloquium will be also focused on the:
– penetration and diffusion of cultural influences in the provincial frames or their diffusion and change over the administratively positioned borders of the provinces
– changes and differences displayed on the monuments of the Roman
