Interests and methodology of research

Dr Mladen Jovičić has, from 2010, been dedicated to the research of Roman provincial archaeology, primarily at Viminacium. Dr Jovičić’s interests are focused on the research of villae rusticae, antique agriculture, tools for grinding cereals, and raw materials for the production of the tools. Dr Jovičić also studies Roman religion and iconography on the territory of Moesia Superior. Dr Jovičić bases his research on the modern technologies used in archaeological research (GIS, geophysics, etc.), the functional analysis of tools for grinding corn and application of petrological analyses for the materials used for tools for grinding corn, all of which Dr Jovičić uses for his conclusions about antique quarries.
