The GreenHeritage Community of Practice is launched to connect heritage and sustainability at the international level

The European project GreenHeritage – Nurturing a Sustainable Future in the Gardens of Time (ID: 101174141), has launched the GreenHeritage Community of Practice (CoP), an international network created to connect professionals, researchers and institutions working at the intersection of cultural and natural heritage, environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

The community aims to foster knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue between research, practice and public policy, promoting the role of heritage as a tool to address environmental challenges and strengthen more sustainable communities.

In this context, on 18 February 2026, the first meeting of the External Advisory Board of the Green Heritage Community of Practice took place. The online meeting, organised by Casa Árabe, brought together international experts to present the project’s progress and define the strategic framework for this new initiative.

An international community for sustainable heritage

The GreenHeritage Community of Practice is an open network designed to connect professionals, researchers and cultural stakeholders interested in the relationship between heritage and sustainability.

Its goal is to promote knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration and debate on the role of heritage in the ecological transition through activities such as webinars, expert meetings and international dialogue platforms.
