Interests and methodology of research

Milica Marjanović is dedicated to research in the field of Roman-period archaeology, with a focus on Roman provincial archaeology and sites along the Danubian limes. Through many years of rescue and systematic excavations in eastern and southern Serbia, she has gained significant fieldwork experience as well as extensive knowledge of the material culture of the Roman period.

At the core of her scholarly interests are the socio-economic aspects of life in antiquity, with particular attention to the status of women and children, as well as issues of family and social organization. Another important segment of her research is textile archaeology, within which she studies the production, use, and social role of textiles and clothing in the Roman period.
