Археолошки институт представља јединствену, централну научно-истраживачку установу у Србији која је посвећена археологији. Основала га је Српска академија наука и уметности 1947. године, а од 1961. је самостална установа.

Publication: “Paleoparasitology: A Methodology for Researching Parasitic Infections in the Past”

Co-published by the Institute of Archaeology and the Belgrade Research Society, the first book in Serbian science on the methodology for studying parasitic infections in humans and animals in the past has been released. The publication, titled Paleoparasitology: A Methodology for Researching Parasitic Infections in the Past, is co-authored by Dr. Nemanja Marković, Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Archaeology, and Dr. Slavica Dacić, Specialist in Microbiology with Parasitology at the Institute for Public Health of Serbia “Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut.” This book will serve as a basic reference for researchers in archaeology (particularly bioarchaeology) and paleontology in the Central and Western Balkans, where paleoparasitological research is in its early stages of development. The printing of the book was financially supported by the Municipality of Mladenovac.
